Access to IReL: Infographics of Outcomes

Funding towards the Irish Research e-Library (IReL) has resulted in new access for staff and students to 13 digital resources, rolled out throughout 2023 and 2024. Usage statistics (full text access) from Jan 2023 – Sept 2024: 1,201,681. As part of implementation, 463 sessions were held to highlight new resources, engaging 288 staff and 7,437 students.

Libraries have gained access to 6 new Transformative Agreements, enabling the sector to offer new routes to openly disseminate research outputs. This has resulted in 167 open publications, valued at €396,928, and contributing to the national target of 100% open access publications by 2030.
